Boerne Schools

Are you thinking of making the move to Boerne but are worried about which school is the best fit for your child? Let me share a few things about the Boerne Independent School District. BISD consists of 7 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools. It is one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas with about 8,600 students calling these campuses home.  The more than 1,000 staff members that make up this district are committed to excellence which can be reflected in the students. Boerne ISD- Boerne ISD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas (2019 Demographic Study), and with more than 1,000 faculty and staff, Boerne ISD is the largest employer in the community. Some of our district’s main points of pride are receiving two consecutive TEA “A” Ratings, the BISD Board selected as Best in the Region, BISD named to the AP District Honor Roll by the U.S. College Board and receiving a Best Communities for Music Education designation. The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected by the public to serve overlapping three-year terms and the Superintendent of BISD is Thomas Price, Ed.D. BISD has a nonprofit, Boerne Education Foundation (BEF) that is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, our mission is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education. The Boerne Education Foundation works closely with Boerne ISD and its teachers to support areas where additional funding is needed or where innovative teaching tools can make a subject more meaningful to students. One last notable mention about BISD is that they won the 2020 HEB Excellence in Education Award.

Boerne’s elementary schools provide a nurturing environment where young minds flourish. With dedicated educators, engaging curriculum, and a focus on individualized learning, these schools lay the foundation for academic growth, personal development, and a lifelong love for learning.

Boerne’s middle schools foster a supportive and inclusive community where students can explore their interests and expand their horizons. With a well-rounded curriculum, dedicated teachers, and a variety of extracurricular activities, these schools provide a transformative educational experience that prepares students for the next chapter of their academic journey.

Boerne’s high schools empower students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. With a comprehensive curriculum, diverse extracurricular opportunities, and a supportive learning environment, these schools prepare students for success in higher education and beyond, shaping them into confident individuals ready to make their mark on the world.
